This is an extremely limited release of a single cask bottled at 8 years old. It was milled from heavily peated New Zealand malt, mashed, fermented and double copper pot distilled here on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. 

It went into its first cask in 2015. The peat used comes from the Tussock Creek peat bogs of Southland. 

First maturation in a virgin American oak, which lends notes of vanilla, caramel and spice. Further matured in an ex-bourbon barrel which rounds out the mouthfeel and palate. The use of only virgin oak and refill bourbon barrels allow the peated malt to shine. 

Bog Monster is the older sibling to Moss. A beast in the glass and on the palate. 

Aroma: Notes of caramel, orange blossom, umami, spice and sweet smoke.

Palate: The palate is sweet and rich with burnt caramel, ginger, dark chocolate which leads to a long lingering finish.
