Lightly toasty aroma with a bit of lemon twist. Barely sweet. This is a beautifully vibrant prosecco on the nose, with well balanced aromas of yeast, apple and mineral. The palate is equally well-ballanced with apple, citrus, melon and mineral. The acidity is perfect. It finishes very clean – no lingering sweet flavors, but just a bit of citrus and mineral. This is a good prosecco, and for the price it’s outstanding!
The Villa Sandi Prosecco “Il Fresco” Spumante DOC Brut Treviso was produced using fruit sourced in Italy’s Veneto region. This offering is 100% Prosecco. After pressing and racking the wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Secondary fermentation with select yeasts occurs at approximately 15 degrees Celsius. Once fermentation is stopped and the wine has had time to settle it’s bottled.
Villa Sandi “Il Fresco” Prosecco IGT NV 100% Prosecco. Prosecco is a typical wine of the Veneto region. The production area extends from the hills of morainic origin over the Padana Plain with medium-textured soils of alluvial origin. Whole grapes are put into the pneumatic press for soft pressing and the resulting must, after a first racking, is put into controlled temperature tanks where it remains until it is used for the production of the sparkling wine. The must with added yeast cultures selected by Villa Sandi is then put into vessels where fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 15-16°C to enhance all the harvest fragrances. Upon reaching the required alcohol and sugar content fermentation is stopped by refrigeration. After a short settling period the sparkling wine is ready for bottling.
