Produced from a blend of 98% Shiraz and 2% Viognier sourced from the Lyndoch, Rowland Flat, Moppa, Ebenezer, Light Pass and Greenock districts of Barossa Valley. The wine was matured in a combination of new (50%) and older French barriques for a period of 30 months.
Magnificent depth of colour featuring an impenetrable inky black heart and an equally deep black dark red hue. Soring from the glass are intoxicating scents of dark plum, liquorice and black cherry which are interwoven with hints of ripe apricot, vanillin cedar, exotic herbs and spicy fennel. Rich, large scaled and super concentrated the silky textured palate has definite Viognier influence to it. A deep well of plush dark plum, liquorice, black cherry and apricot fruits engulfs every corner of the mouth with elements of vanillin oak, fennel and spicy pepper adding complexity onto the back half. A dash of blueberry lends freshness and velvety tannins have an underlying firmness. Concludes with outstanding power and a long super seductive aftertaste.
