Dolce’ (the Italian word for sweet) is Starward’s interpretation of dessert whisky – a melding of juicy wine and oak notes with a flourish of sweet ‘Sicilian’ flavours. Essentially, it’s standard Starward matured in Australian red wine barrels, then finished in barrels that held an Australian version of a Sicilian dessert wine. Limited to 4800 bottles, the result adds marshmallow and cola notes to the core malt. Especially recommended with a cheeseboard.
